Khaddit Beirut

Khaddit Beirut is a unique national initiative aimed at developing a community-led and locally-driven roadmap to recovery following the Beirut Blast on August 4, 2020. Our objective is to connect experts to trusted NGOs with proven track records and impactful community contributions to develop a concrete and achievable roadmap in the focal areas of community health, environmental health, education policies, and small business. (See below.) Our roadmap will be developed based on best practices from around the world and lessons learned from our own experiences. We will be providing trustworthy expert guidance that responds directly to the immediate needs of the local community and sets standards for relief and aid. This data will come from an interactive platform where members of the local community can upload their needs and priorities.
We are activists, experts, artists, academics, and business owners – but, above all, we are concerned citizens who will not rest until people receive the aid they need – and that they deserve.
Donations will be used to support the work of NGOs in four areas:
- Community health – for medications, mobile clinic, etc.
- Environmental health – for supplies, environmental testing, lab equipment, etc.
- Education policies – for learning materials for students, activities for children, etc.
- Small business – to restore a small business; for marketing, equipment, supplies, etc.
