We, all members of the Class of AREC ’82, invite you to join the three donors who have already pledged $120,000 to the AREC ‘82 Fund.

The 64 enthusiastic undergraduate students pursuing bachelor of science degrees in agriculture in 1982 spent a memorable two semesters at AREC (the AUB farm) in Houch Sneid, Beqaa Valley to experience hands-on training in agriculture.

This experience turned out to be the experience of our lifetimes and created fond memories and solid, lifelong friendships that we continue to cherish.

We have recently come together to establish the AREC ’82 Fund, a fund that will (1) provide partial scholarships to deserving undergraduates majoring in food, agriculture, or the environment who demonstrate financial need and whose careers will have a positive impact on the country and improve the lives of countless people; (2) help to fund the AREC dorm fees for third-year agriculture students who need assistance; and (3) support research.

Our goal is to raise $250,000.

Your donation will help promising and deserving FAFS-AUB undergraduates enabling them to complete their degrees and, in turn, help sustain the agricultural and food sectors in Lebanon and the region.
